Action research has
opened my eyes on a whole new level, on a level of understanding the
educational purposes of improvement and the quality of teaching in schools. After
learning the meanings and concepts of action research, I have thought about
many focus areas I may want to pursue within my organization. Action research is
determined by focusing on details within the classroom transactions, situations
and events that can or should be changed in order to achieve a higher level of
success. Action research also has a since of influence to affect everyone in the
organizations presence, due to the many possible outcomes and changes which
could occur. Dana, (2009) “Inquiring professionals seek out change and reflect
on their practice, by posing questions or “wonderings,” (p. 2). I have also
learned about action research is the engagement used in action research; it is
an authoritative tool for an educator to help their professional development. While
engagement is being used in the process, action research is a way for teachers,
practitioners, or administrator, to learn more by active participation, such as
watching, listening, analyzing, reflecting and questioning. Principals will
participate in ongoing research /study looking at a variety of data to
determine the issues at hand at their schools. This form of research can be
done collaboratively or in a formal way, with a significant amount of data.
This data can be discussed or shared amongst the group to elaborate and apply
strategies for problem solving, of the research at hand. Action research
clearly; helps the principal, inquiring mind evaluate, assess, and weigh out
certain areas within the school that needs to be addressed. Overall, the principal
professional development will enhance, allowing them to improve, along with
their school.
I can use action research as one of the many
tools on my road to become an administrator. While completing my internship I
will try to analyze each activity I do in detail and possibly apply action
research. I have already begun thinking about possible action research to pursue;
my overall goal is to improve learning and school.

An analysis how educational leaders might use blogs:
Web blogs can be a major
component for any profession. Web blogs for educational leaders, allows them to
have access to a series of informational text, videos, and other vital
information from a variety of people (bloggers). The information produced can
be used to help your action research or any other issue you may have. The World
Wide Web is "in" people use the web for many other things to send and
receive information. Educational leaders can communicate with one another and
assist each other to improve their organization.
